Algerian-born Yves Saint Laurent is regarded as one of the greatest French fashion designers of the twentieth-century. Laurent moved to Paris and worked for Christian Dior, becoming the head designer for the label at only twenty-one after the untimely death of the master. Backed by this experience, Yves Saint Laurent founded his eponymous label in 1962 with partner Pierre Berge. His collections soon became famed for their daring but elegant looks, a reputation that holds true today.
